1. Direction of House Entrance

The entrance of your home plays a key role in Vastu Shastra, as it’s considered the gateway for energy flow. According to experts, the east, north, or northeast direction is the most auspicious for the main door. These directions are believed to invite positivity, prosperity, and good health into your home. It’s truly one of the most important Vastu friendly home interior tips to follow in 2026 for creating a peaceful and balanced living environment.

2. Design Your Kitchen in the Southeast Direction

According to Vastu Shastra, the southeast direction is the ideal location for your kitchen, as this zone represents the Agni or fire element. The placement of your cooking area here supports health, energy, and prosperity in the household. Also, avoid positioning your kitchen directly below or above bedrooms, as this can create energy conflicts and disturb harmony.

3. Colours Influence

Your wall colours can significantly influence your mood and energy. Vastu friendly home interior tips recommend using colours that align with the purpose of each room. You can use soft shades like yellow, beige, and light green to enhance the happiness and calmness of your living room. To bring balance and emotional peace, use light pink or lavender shades. Orange and red are known for promoting health and appetite, making them perfect for the kitchen.

4. Peaceful Meditation Space

Every home should have a dedicated area for prayer or meditation. As per Vastu, the puja room or meditation corner should be placed in the northeast direction, also known as Ishan Kona. You can decorate this area with light colours, soft lighting, and spiritual symbols. But you must avoid placing the puja room near bathrooms or under staircases, as these areas are not considered auspicious.

5. Bedroom Direction for Peaceful Sleep

A bedroom is an area for rest and rejuvenation, and it is ideally located in the southwest direction. Also, you need to avoid mirrors in front of your bed, as they can disrupt peaceful energy. Another thing you can do is keep your electronic gadgets away from your bed to reduce radiation. Keep soft lighting and light-coloured curtains to create a calm atmosphere.

6. Plants For Positivity

Plants symbolize growth and positivity. You must incorporate greenery in your house, as it is one of the easiest Vastu friendly home interior tips for a refreshing environment. Place indoor plants like money plants, bamboo, or peace lilies in the east or north direction. But avoid placing thorny plants like cactus inside the home, as they can generate negative energy, but they are perfect for outside. Natural elements like wooden furniture, jute rugs, and stone decor enhance the grounding energy in your interiors.

7. Use of Mirrors

Mirrors play a very important role in Vastu, as they have the power to reflect and multiply energy. It is believed that you should never place a mirror directly opposite your bed or main entrance, as it can disturb peace and invite unwanted energy. The best placement for mirrors is in the dining area, as it symbolizes abundance and prosperity.

8. Cleanliness & Declutter On Time

A clutter-free home equals a clutter-free mind, and one of the simplest Vastu friendly home interior tips is to regularly declutter your living spaces. You should not keep broken, unused, or non-functional items in your house, as they block energy flow. Keep the corners of your house clean and organized. Also, let the sunlight reach every part of your home.

9. Symbols of Positivity & Prosperity

Your decor choices can silently shape your home’s energy. So, it is recommended to add symbols that represent good luck and success. To attract more positive vibrations in the house, you can hang a wind chime near the entrance, or you can place a bowl of fresh flowers in your living room to bring joy and renewal. Also, crystals, brass lamps, or elephants as decor elements that invite abundance and peace into your home.

10. Fragrances to Uplift Energy

Fragrances play a subtle but powerful role in maintaining positive energy in the house. And using light, natural incense sticks, essential oils, or diffusers in the morning can help purify your space. As per Vastu, scents like sandalwood, jasmine, and rose help in creating a peaceful atmosphere and ward off negativity.
